This is awesomely funny. Not only am I getting ready for a trip to Bukavu Friday for my NGO employer, I’m studying finance in grad school.

Love your cash flow analysis man! What’s your NPV?

Dude, great write-up. I’m hoping we can get a similar trip together–we’ll need to talk and see if I can make it work under our current travel policies (and see what the other side of the border has to say about it…).

As for your four “information specialists” from Goma, you have to realize that every IT guy and construction worker abroad with the US gov’t right now dresses and tries to act like they’re with Blackwater or the CIA. Boots, 5.11 clothes, safari vests, ballcaps, goatees. They probably really were some kind of computer/communications dork… ‘Course, the military has people in and out of Goma from time to time too. Not that many of them aren’t computer/communications dorks as well.
